Animation Essay

Over the many years animation has grown with technology and it has gotten better and better. Basic animations started off in the 1670's with the Magic lantern. Magiae Naturalis was the first animation that was published in the english language which was published by John Baptista Porta. In the 1800's more and more new types of animation came around with Thaumatrope, Zoetrope and Praxinoscope. Thaumatrop came around in 1824 and just ten years later and then Zoetrop came out in 1834 and then in 1869 which saw the arrival of the flipbook. It took the world by storm and is still around and still is very popular today. More with younger kids since there usually free in boxes of cereal. As technology advanced more and more new types of animation came around with animation being completely computer animated with the likes of toy story,over the hedge, shrek ect. But before then there was stop motion which is basicly taking pictures and moving models to make a film such tv shows and films use it like Wallace and gromit, Chicken Run, South Park and most recently Fantastic Mr Fox.
